RACHEL OWINGS
RVT
Practice Manager
Rachel, the Practice Manager at Bon Air Pet Hospital, has been drawn to animals and science from a young age. As a child, she delighted in reading and memorizing the “Encyclopedia of Dog Breeds” and spent countless hours watching National Geographic
and The Animal Planet whenever she could.
Raised in Marin County, Rachel’s childhood was filled with caring for dogs, horses, and tropical birds. She has a particular fondness for Pugs and Chihuahuas, which have frequently been part of her family. Her early jobs included working with horses and
tending to pets in boarding facilities.
Rachel began her veterinary journey in 2011 in Mill Valley as a kennel assistant and was quickly promoted to Veterinary Assistant within the same year. While working full-time, she earned her Registered Veterinary Technician license through Veterinary Allied Staff Education in Dixon, CA in July 2016. Her professional interests include senior pet health, dentistry, pain management and anesthesia, as well as veterinary nutrition. Rachel also enjoys mentoring aspiring veterinary professionals, sharing her knowledge and expertise.
Rachel lives in Novato with her husband, daughter, and their beloved pack of pets: a sweet rescue chihuahua, a goofy labrador retriever, an even goofier bulldog mix, a polydactyl tabby cat, and a snake. She spends her free time horseback riding with her
daughter, exploring the outdoors with her family, and hiking Marin’s trails with her labrador and bulldog.
Rachel is honored to work alongside Dr. Olson and Dr. Pheils at Bon Air Pet Hospital. She eagerly anticipates meeting the clients, their cherished pets and providing excellent care for many years to come.
